Forensic Entomology is the science and study of insects and other arthropods with law-related applications. It can be divided in three subfields: urban, stored-product and medico-legal/medico-criminal.
This photograph was produced for a Forensic Scientist who wanted a biography portrait for her Entomology Association website. The objective for creating this photograph is to create custom photographs for each of the forensic disciplines in the crime lab, similar to a “CSI” lighting effect.
The lighting setup for this photograph were inspired by a fellow photographer and friend James Hodgins of Hodgins Photography (www.hodginsphotography.com). James is an international award winning photographer and co-founder of the forum NoBS Photosuccess.
Future Changes: Relflector with 10° or 20° Grid modifier replacement for the softbox. I found that the softbox was creating too broad of a light pattern for the results that I was looking for, so changing the softbox with a grid will be the next revision to future photographs.
